I believe. Dr. King used those two words in his famous address so many years ago. That may be one of the most profound and powerful statements a person can make. Everything each and every one of us does every day is based on what each of us believes will occur as a result.
Our beliefs affect how we interact with and interpret everything we encounter, they affect our emotions, our reasoning, and what we think of others. They shape our reactions and our relationships.
But it’s also a great way to start a story, isn’t it? Powerful, and it instantly makes you want to know WHAT the belief is. So, I think I’ll start by saying through the past little while my introspection and self-awareness has brought me to a point where sorting out just what MY beliefs are is an important part of ‘putting myself back together’ so to speak.
I believe. I believe that life is short, and too many of us stumble along the path because we are so busy navigating life in our modern society. I believe we are afraid; afraid of things right from birth, starting from the process of learning to walk- at some basic level I feel the pain and discomfort of falling is a mechanism that pushes us to learn to walk. This pattern continues, with examples in front of our own eyes every day, even now.
I believe in a great many things, and some of them, as I sort and flesh them out in my own mind, I think I’ll start sharing here, as a way to maybe pass on bits of things I’ve learned for others. Maybe someone will find a nugget of wisdom, or truth, or information useful or helpful to them.
Stay tuned, I’ll be adding to this blog as I go, an organic road map to the collection of thoughts, memories, emotions, everything that swims around in the dark recesses and makes me ME.
Have a great day.
